RED Cine-Broadcast - V-RAPTOR Completion Pack (Full Rack)
Compatible with the V-RAPTOR® and V-RAPTOR® XL line of camera systems, the RED® Cine-Broadcast Pack adds live-broadcast operation while retaining RED's cinematic look. The module carries up to two channels of 4K 60P (HDR/SDR) over 12G-SDI and is ready for IP broadcast through SMPTE ST 2110 (TR-08)*. A LEMO SMPTE 311M/304M hybrid-fiber optical receptacle links it to either a rack-mountable 2U full-rack Base Station or a half-rack 4U Base Station. This arrangement integrates cinema-camera output into live-broadcast infrastructure while retaining the stated HDR and SDR channel options.
Advanced workflows available to broadcasters include 3x and 4x super slow motion, AI/ML augmentation, and live-to-headset operation from 8K 120FPS R3Ds. They use RED's license-enabled RED Connect feature together with an external CCU. The same hybrid-fiber optical cable carries the live 8K R3D workflow and 12G-SDI transmission simultaneously, supporting efficient and versatile operation without requiring separate transmission paths.
Camera firmware version 1.8 introduces RED's new Broadcast Color pipeline. In live-broadcast settings, it supports on-demand painting adjustments and color matching across multiple RED cameras. Industry-standard RCPs adjust painting parameters over IP in real time. Because those values are stored per frame in R3D metadata, the recorded material can move smoothly into a non-destructive cinema workflow during post-production while retaining the frame-level painting information.
