With the blue-and-silver SkyPanel S30-C LED Softlight, ARRI expands its LED fixture range while continuing its emphasis on faithful color reproduction. A pole-operated aluminum yoke supports the portable panel, whose 14 x 11.8" illuminated surface is well suited to mobile productions. Interchangeable thermoplastic diffusers in Standard, Lite, and Heavy strengths control softness and help the illumination wrap around a subject. Although it consumes no more than 240W, the SkyPanel S30-C delivers output comparable to a 1000W tungsten soft light.

Technology first developed for the L7-C Fresnel gives the fixture full color tunability, including a CCT span from a warm 2800K to a cool 10,000K. Its complete RGB+W gamut provides detailed hue and saturation adjustment, while correction extends from full minusgreen through full plusgreen. For blue- or green-screen work, the desired chroma color can therefore be selected directly. This control contributes to a CRI of 95 and a TLCI rating of 91. Every function, including continuous 0-100% dimming, is accessible from the onboard controller or remotely through DMX or LAN. Alongside the necessary control inputs and outputs, a USB-A port permits firmware installation from a thumb drive, Windows computer, or Mac.

An included 90-250 VAC power supply allows worldwide mains operation, while separately available 23-36 VDC batteries can run the light where AC power is inaccessible. The package also contains a standard diffuser and a combination baby/junior (5/8" | 1-1/8") pin. This configuration includes a 3.3'-long bare-ends DC power cable.

Precise, Fully Adjustable Color

Drawing on technology from ARRI's established L-Series LED Fresnels, the SkyPanel combines high output with exceptional soft-light flexibility. Color-designated SkyPanel "C" models permit complete adjustment of correlated color temperature from 2800K to 10,000K while maintaining accurate rendition throughout the range. A single knob moves correction from full plusgreen to full minusgreen, and separate controls provide vivid color selection with saturation adjustment. This versatility covers tasks ranging from rapidly changing CCT to shape a scene's atmosphere to producing chroma green for keying work. Computer calibration of every LED engine maintains accurate color temperatures and consistency between individual units and production batches.

Authentic Soft-Light Output

A broad, uniform field and smooth illumination define a true soft source. By combining carefully selected diffusion panels with a large emitting surface and LED mixing chamber, the SkyPanel wraps light around objects, reduces hard-edged shadows, and serves effectively as a beauty light. Both intensity and color remain even throughout the beam.

Clean, Natural-Looking Shadows

Calibrated red, green, blue, and white LEDs blend into one consistent soft beam, providing both refined illumination and natural shadow reproduction. Shadows retain clean edges without color fringing or the multiple outlines sometimes produced by mixed sources.

Adaptability as Standard

Although conceived primarily as a soft source for illuminating people, the SkyPanel includes numerous features that suit other applications. Front diffusion panels exchange in seconds, making a transition from Heavy to Lite diffusion quick and straightforward.
An integrated battery input accepts industry-standard batteries, and the S30 can deliver full output while operating from battery power.
With an optional silk cylinder, the fixture can function as a space light and cast a broad, downward pool of color-adjustable soft illumination.

Engineered for Long-Term Use

Hand-assembled in Germany to ARRI's recognized manufacturing standards, the SkyPanel uses robust materials selected for professional environments. Fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastics surround an aluminum core, producing a sturdy fixture capable of enduring intensive daily work on active film sets. Its electronics are designed for a service life ranging from at least 25,000 to as many as 50,000 hours, and the LED engine supports recalibration.

Comprehensive yet Accessible Control

The SkyPanel interface places extensive adjustment within an approachable control layout. Three uncomplicated knobs provide immediate access to color temperature, green/magenta balance, output intensity, hue, and saturation. Every function can additionally be managed from a distance through either DMX or LAN.
