From Manufacturer

Built as camera-independent, open-standard optics, ARRI's versatile LPL Signature Primes support readily customized rendering, numerous focal lengths, and matching zoom lenses. The 12mm T1.8 ARRI Signature Prime, like every lens in the range, covers sensors through full-frame and large-format dimensions. It belongs to a 16-prime family known for organic imagery, pleasing bokeh, restrained flare, and fast maximum apertures that allow shallow depth of field. The 12mm gently softens a large-format image while rendering natural, attractive skin tones and crisp blacks. A smooth focus transition separates the subject from the background.
Custom diffusion and other visual treatments can be created by placing stockings, voile, or nets inside the magnetic rear holder. An 11-blade iris shapes soft, rounded bokeh, while telecentric optics reduce breathing. Built-in LDS-2 lens-data communication remains backward-compatible with ARRI LDS-1 and also works with Cooke /i Technology.
Magnesium bodies and aluminum gear rings keep every Signature Prime lightweight and water-resistant, with focus scales marked in feet. Internal barrel flare is controlled through anti-reflective treatments, light traps, and baffles. If a stunt fails or another accident damages a camera rig, the internal mechanics are arranged for easier access by an ARRI service center.
