Part of a 16-lens ARRI/Zeiss collection, the 135mm Master Prime combines exceptional resolving power and advanced contrast with virtually no breathing. Its fast T1.3 aperture also supports a shallow depth of field. Across focal lengths from 12mm through 150mm, Master Primes reproduce the color and skin tones associated with Zeiss and remain color-matched throughout the range. At 135 mm, the telephoto perspective isolates a subject without flattening the image excessively, preserving pleasing dimensionality in faces. The Master Prime 135 also uses the same precision iris found throughout the series, creating gentle, natural bokeh and beautifully rounded out-of-focus highlights at every aperture.
Like other lenses in the Master Prime family, the 135 mm renders high-resolution, high-contrast imagery while keeping flare and veiling glare extremely low. As digital cameras offer increasingly broad exposure latitude, transmitting the scene’s complete contrast range to the sensor becomes especially important. Master Primes accomplish this through proprietary coatings, carefully engineered light traps, and multiple specially developed light-absorbing interior paints. The result is maximum sensor contrast with clean highlights and deep, rich blacks. Drawing on unique technology and extensive lens-design experience, these optics provide cinematographers with an exceptionally rich image that can be shaped creatively through lighting, filtration, or digital post-production. ARRI Master Prime lenses can be purchased from UBMS Dubai.
A maximum aperture of T1.3, combined with the Master Primes’ ability to preserve high image quality when fully open, makes extremely shallow depth of field possible when required. Cinematographers can use this control to increase or reduce the visual separation between a subject and the surrounding scene. For close-up work, the Master Prime 135 focuses as near as 0.95 m (37”) while retaining its high optical quality. The ARRI 135mm Master Prime Lens (K2.47619.0) is available at the UBMS Dubai showroom.
Consistent with the remaining Master Prime lineup, the Master Prime 135 incorporates a Lens Data System (LDS). Compatible ALEXA cameras can embed complete lens metadata directly into recorded images, streamlining post-production. Its focus and iris rings occupy the standard expected positions for quick, simple lens changes. A conventional 114 mm front diameter also enables the same matte box to serve almost every Master Prime.
Master Prime lenses pair fast apertures with optical performance exceeding conventional standard-speed primes. They introduce creative possibilities and enable images that were previously considered impossible. ARRI and ZEISS jointly developed the series; ZEISS manufactures the lenses, and ARRI sells them exclusively. Contact UBMS for additional information.
