This Aputure 32-sided Light Dome 150 Softbox from measures 5' and is a great selection for portraits, assembly shots, interview work, fashion, and more.
Its large emitting surface produces authentic wraparound illumination whose wraparound character strengthens as the modifier moves nearer to the subject. Included diffusion comprises 1.5-stop and 2.5-stop front fabrics plus a removable inner layer to thwart the hot spot.
Several diffusion combinations let the output character be tailored.
Maximum softness comes from combining both front layers with the internal diffuser. Require a little more snap? Remove one front diffuser.
Still not crisp enough? Remove both front diffusers. Combine the diffusion layers as needed to achieve the preferred light quality.
The Light Dome's 31.5" separation enables a well-defined falloff that provides the directionality needed for selective illumination whenever used with the supplied fabric grid.
The subject's eyes receive natural-looking catchlights, while the Bowens-type responsiveness ring included will additionally fit lighting from third-party brands built around the same popular mount.
