A Closer Look at AJA KUMO
In this camera's design, The 1 RU KUMO 1616 3G-SDI Space-efficient Router from AJA is a 16 x 16 footage matrix router. It is a small, cost-effective option for a range of broadcast, production, and post-production uses. This router integrates 16 SDI sources and 16 SDI outputs. The KUMO 1616 has an embedded Linux working system and onboard Web server, which deliver Web browser control via 10/100/1000 Ethernet with no need for extra software.
The mini-USB port offers easy configuration of the router IP address and simplifies network configurations. The unit's space-efficient 1 RU size makes it appropriate for edit suites, mobile sports trucks, corporate footage installations or theatrical A/V rigs; through HTTP support, operators also gain numerous powerful control options. This router can be built-in with existing infrastructure through the industry-standard grass valley native protocol over RS-422 or Ethernet.
