The AJA KONA 5 is an 8-lane PCIe 3.0 I/O card developed for demanding footage and audio editing workflows. It incorporates four bidirectional 12G-SDI HD-BNC connectors supporting up to HFR 8K footage ingest and output. It additionally has a HDMI 2.0 feed for observation and incorporates a breakout cable for AES audio source/output,
LTC timecode source/output, and RS-422 control.
The bidirectional SDI connectors enable simultaneous capture and observation.
12G-capable connectors additionally deliver backwards compatibility with 6G/3G/1.5G. The KONA 5 incorporates a hardware downstream keyer for real-time overlays.
