A Closer Look at AJA FS-Mini
From the sensor onward,
The AJA FS-Mini is a portable broadcast-quality utility frame synchronizer supporting frame synchronization of untimed 3G-SDI, HD, and SD footage signals. Its space-efficient configuration fits behind a monitor, on the back of a rack, or on a camera rig to deliver an adaptable way of synchronizing and converting an extensive selection of footage formats to the house standard in broadcast engineering and live event uses. The FS-Mini supplies 3G-SDI source and feed, HDMI feed, and 2-channel RCA audio feed. It additionally features a reference source for locking to a local reference, and it makes possible high-quality up-, down-, and cross-conversion. The device can be controlled via local DIP switches or over USB with AJA's free Mini-Config use for Mac and Windows.
The FS-Mini accepts an untimed signal, frame syncs it, processes it, and automatically routes it to the SDI feed for use in production and at the same time to the HDMI feed for monitoring. You can choose which two channels of audio are routed to the RCA audio monitor feeds. A locking power adapter is included, and an optional D-Tap cable can be used for incorporating battery power in remote locations.
Note:
The FS-Mini accommodates 3G-SDI Level An only; 3G-SDI Level B is not supported. Additionally, it only passes embedded audio ancillary data via and no other types of embedded ancillary data.
